Firstly, a big thank you to all who came to last month’s meeting. It was to see everyone working on there fishes and it was great to able to share in ideas and techniques. The submission date for your fishes will most likely be at the end of the summer and an exact date will be finalised by Mary closer to the time and emailed to all mambers.
But on to the more serious submission of your marine pieces for for selection for our forthcoming exhibition at the Lexicon.
If you have completed your piece already then you could bring it to the next IGE meeting which, as you know, is on Saturday 7th May ( and is our last meeting for the year ) and hand it in then .
After that the final hand in date is Friday 15th July .Pieces may be brought to the home of our Secretary Debbie Wilson, between 8am-10.30 am or between 4-6pm .
For Debbie’s contact details please email email@example.com
We are collecting them in July so that we have the opportunity for them to be juried followed by planning arrangements for the selected pieces which will be hanging in the lexicon. The venue and the process will be very public and everything to do with the set up will have to be undertaken in sight of the library users. With this in mind we will be doing a mock up of the hanging arrangements before we go in to the Lexicon and this will have to take place in August.
Remember, the above arrangements apply only to the pieces which are being submitted for exhibition and which will be juried. Arrangements for collection of all the other fish elements for our communal piece will be made later.
The exhibition is open to members of the guild only. For full details of membership, click on the membership tab above.
